Types of Text payment models
Pay-per-seat and per-pay-account are two types of Text payment models that are available in our Partner Program. Here’s the difference between them:
Pay-per-seat (PPS)
- The customer pays only for a Text account that’s being actively used by an agent
- Model is available in the Solution program only (for partners reselling Text apps)
Pay-per-account (PPA)
- The customer pays for every Text account regardless of activity
- Current Text pricing model
To make things more simple, here’s an example.
In the PPS model, a customer can create an account for each support team member, but they’ll pay only for the number of accounts that chat with visitors. They can have 20 agent accounts, but if only five agents chat with their visitors at one time, such a customer will be paying for five seats only.
In the PPA model, a customer has to pay for every account that was created on the Text license. It means that if they want to create 20 accounts for their agents, they’ll pay for 20 accounts.
Customers who sign up to Text can have only one option: pay-per-account. However, since we see that each pricing model benefits different partnership types, we decided to keep them both.
The PPS and PPA benefits
Here’s who can benefit from both pricing models:
PPS is profitable for partners who resell Text apps
When you’re a Text apps reseller, you pay only for seats that are used for chatting. However, you can charge your customer on the basics of public pricing. In other words, while you pay for seats only, your customer can pay for each account. That can be your additional source of revenue, on top of the 20% discount.
Another benefit is that you can create an account for yourself, absolutely free. It’s handy if you want to monitor your customers’ performance, customize their license or optimize their processes.
PPA is profitable for Affiliates and partners who refer Text apps
When customers are charged for each account, it means a higher revenue per license. And a higher revenue means higher commission for a partner.
