Setting Up Licenses for Your Customers

The process of creating trial accounts for LiveChat and ChatBot is quite similar. There are only slight differences that refer to license payment management, offer customization, and inviting additional people to the app.

In LiveChat, you choose whether you want to pay your customers’ invoices or if you want them to pay on their own.

What’s the difference?

If you pick yourself, you still get a lifetime discount and hide all the subscription details in LiveChat so your customer doesn’t see it. You’ll also be able to customize your offer by adding a discount or extending the trial.

Please note that customers pay for every LiveChat account that was created, even if the account owner doesn’t use LiveChat. In the reselling model, you pay for the seats only (you pay only for accounts that are actually used). It means that you’ll pay

If you choose your customer to manage payments, they will see the subscription details in LiveChat and it will be disabled for you in the Partner App. Going for such a scenario, you still can expect us to pay you a commission whenever a customer subscribes for a full version.

For ChatBot, there’s currently no option to manage your customers’ payments or to invite additional users to the app.

Creating a LiveChat account

Go to the “Solution” section in your Partner App.

Hit ‘Create a license’ button.

Select a product and click “Next”.

Decide who should manage your subscription, you or your customer.

If you pick yourself:

  • We’ll get you a 20% lifetime discount,
  • We’ll hide all the subscription details so the customer using it has no access to details of our cooperation.

If you pick your customer to manage payments:

  • We’ll give them access to the subscription section and disable it in the Partner App.
  • We’ll pay you a 20% recurring commission when a customer subscribes for a full version.

Provide basic information.

With advanced set up, you can enter your customers’ identifier and choose whether you’d like to store your customers’ data in the USA or in the EU. While both are extremely secure, some companies may have specific requirements to use one rather than the other.

Invite users (optional)

This feature is available for all Partners who chose to manage their customers’ subscription.

Once you’re done, hit ‘Create a license.’

Once you finish these steps, we’ll create the trial for your customer and send an email invitation to start using LiveChat.

Please note that automating the trials creation process is possible with some developer skills and with the use of our API documentation.

Creating a ChatBot account

To create a ChatBot trial account directly in the Partner App:

Go to the “Solution” section in your Partner App.

Hit ‘Create a license’ button.

Select a product and click “Next”.

Decide who manages the subscription (there’s only “Your client” option available at the moment).

Provide basic information and your customers’ identifier (optional).

Once you’re done, hit ‘Create a license.’
