Setting up licenses for your customers

The creation of a license is straightforward and quick. Before we go through the process though, here’s one pro tip.

You don’t need to limit trials to customers who have already shown interest. Instead, treat account creation as a form of lead assignment.

Have a client who’s preliminarily interested in the product?

Create a trial for them right away, even before they make a purchase decision as this might improve your chances of having more qualified leads (QLs) and - possibly - conversions.

Remember that extending or reactivating the trial later on is not a problem at all!

License creation

To create a license, you (obviously) need to log into the Partner Program, and:

  • Click “Create a license” link on the main dashboard,
  • Go to the “Solution” section’s dashboard and hit the “Create license” button.

Once you do that, the license creator opens.

1. Select a product

2. Decide who manages subscription

Here, you choose whether you want to pay your customers’ invoices or if you want them to pay on their own.

  • If you choose “You,” you’ll get a lifetime discount for a given product and we’ll hide all the subscription details so your customer doesn’t see it. Thanks to this, you’ll be able to customize your offer.
  • If you choose “Your client,” they will see the subscription details and it will be disabled for you. Going for such a scenario, you still can expect us to pay you a commission whenever a customer subscribes for a full version.

3. Provide basic info

Please note that for LiveChat you can choose the data storage location (Europe or United States).

Now, you can click “Next step” to invite more users to the license (optional), or you can hit “Create a license” and finish the process.

4. Invite users (optional)

Add your customer’s co-workers they want to be added.

Please note that you can perform this step in the future.

For more info check this article: Adding new users to the license.

If the license invitation isn’t accepted within 48 hours, you’ll receive an email notification to take action.
