The update of LiveChat pricing model

updated: Jul 22, 2024

From 2022, LiveChat utilizes the pay-per-user pricing model. Now, the time has come to unify pricing among all our licenses. Here’s everything about this change that you have to know.

On June 10th, all new LiveChat accounts created via the Partner App adopted a pay-per-user pricing model.

If there are 10 users on the license and only 8 of them are active, the customer will be billed for 10 accounts.
If there are 10 users on the license and only 8 of them are active, the customer will be billed for 10 accounts.

In the next step, we’re refining the pricing structure for LiveChat licenses distributed by resellers. As of August 11th, invoices for all your clients will reflect the revised pricing model, and they’ll be generated on the usual billing cycle dates.

The first customer’s invoice issued after August 11th will be charged using pay-per-user pricing model.

How are we going to help you with a smooth transition

To make sure that there are no surprises, you will receive two types of notifications with information about your license’s pay-per-user switch.

In-app notifications

14 days before the updated charge, we will send you an in-app notification with all license details.

You will also see an informational banner in your license details.

Email notification

Also 14 days before the updated charge, you’ll get an email in your inbox.

Having this knowledge, you can get in touch with your client.

How can you support your client

Here’s what you can do to support your clients and make the transition smooth.

Review your customers’ needs

Reach out to your clients to conduct a thorough review of their user accounts. This will help identify and suspend any redundant accounts, thereby ensuring that you’re not billed for unnecessary licenses.

Suspend redundant accounts

The owner or admin with access to the subscription can suspend agents in the Team section. The agent will immediately move from the Agents tab to the Suspended tab. You can always move this account back to the Agents tab, by going to the Suspended tab and clicking on the Activate button.

  1. Click on the more button …, next to the name of the agent you want to suspend.
  2. Select Suspend from the menu.
  3. Click on Suspend agent to confirm.

Suspending an agent doesn’t automatically lower your charge. If you want to pay for fewer accounts go to Subscription and manually change the number of accounts you’re paying for.

Delete redundant accounts

  1. Click on the more button …, next to the name of the agent you want to remove.
  2. Select Delete from the menu.
  3. Click on Delete agent to confirm.

The agent will be immediately removed from the list.

Utilize ChatBot

In the pay-per-user pricing model, you no longer pay for a seat for your ChatBot. You only pay for active agents, not ChatBot accounts.

If you’re already using ChatBot, this means savings on ChatBot seats. If not, it is a great opportunity to try it out!
